The assignment of providing quality education at the associate's, bachelor's and master's level to students who are admitted for degree study is paramount. Helping students learn how to learn and to exhibit intellectual and ethical growth and development is the priority of Academic Affairs and the University.
This primary purpose is initially accomplished at the associate and baccalaureate level through requiring completion by all undergraduate students of a set of general education requirements grounded in the liberal arts, followed by a specialized course of study in an academic field that leads to degree completion.
Selected graduate courses of study with specialized core requirements are offered at the graduate level. Excellence in teaching is essential to this mission and is supported by faculty development, scholarly, creative and research activities. Appropriate instruction and additional programming are also provided to fulfill service needs of the general public.
The undergraduate, graduate and certificate programs serve both traditional age and returning adult students. Our programs provide an education that is current, student centered, outcome-based and which involves an appropriate mix of classroom instruction, independent research and internship or practical experience.
The Southeastern education equips students in a rapidly changing environment: critical thinking, effective oral and written communication, problem solving, ethical decision making, computer competency and technological literacy.
The academic programs, inclusive of Business management, Accounting, Computer Science Information Systems and Public Administration, offer courses of study in pre-professional and professional programs by the traditional Liberal Arts discipline. These programs are designed to provide academic challenge. The highly credentialed and experienced faculty is ready to work with you to help you to become life long learners, to develop the competencies and competitive edge in the market place and to become productive members of the society.
In carrying out these primary purposes, the Office of Academic Affairs, through the academic departments and administrative units, is dedicated to the pursuit and transmission of knowledge and the achievement of excellence in its programs, its faculty and its students.
We look forward to working with you to achieve your educational goals.
