MEMORANDUM

To:All Faculty
From:Telaekah Brooks, JD
Dean of Faculty and Academics
Date:August 28, 2008
RE:Faculty Training for Fall 2008

I would like to thank all faculty that attended the August 23rd training session. There were many thoughtful questions and meaningful discussions on what assessment means at Southeastern and how it can be used to improve teaching and learning. I was impressed the number of faculty that attended and the fact that all departments were adequately represented. A survey asking your opinion of the training will be sent to you next week.

The proposed schedule for faculty training in the Fall 2008 term is located below. This is a rigorous training schedule designed to position the university and faculty to better conduct assessment at Southeastern. It is understandable that you will not be able to attend all sessions, but you are expected to attend at least 75% of the training offered. Additional sessions will be added to this schedule based upon need and further information will be provided to those attending offsite events at a later point.
